In the long road between an idea and the final product, a tridimensional model becomes an object, a landscape, a creature, thanks to the textures and materials it is made of.
In this Webinar, Claudia Marvisi – Lead Texture Artist at Pixomondo – will take you on a journey to unveil the fascinating world of Texturing and beyond, shifting the focus from the simple implementation to the mental process (and artistic approach) that turns an object into a subject.
Beyond the pure visual information, texturing and look development merge different sensory domains (visual, tactile, etc.) to create the sensation of the 3d model, and to define its personality.
Starting from the observation of real-world textures and materials, we will see how to translate them into their digital counterparts forwarding the emotions and the “history” of the subject.
With her long experience in the VFX world, Claudia shares first-hand knowledge on asset pipeline and texturing workflows, and a privileged viewpoint on the technical and attitudinal skills needed to get into the industry, on the figure of the Texture Artist and what the industry expects from them.

Claudia is Head of Texturing at Pixomondo for feature films and tv series.
She took the role of Lead Texture Artist for movies such as Midway by Roland Emmerich and acclaimed series as Star Wars – The Mandalorian, Raised by Wolves, and Star Trek Discovery.
