MASTER BUILD will teach the fundamentals of Build for production, (modeling, texturing, shading, and look development). This will be completed with an introduction to other disciplines in order to help the students to understand the studio pipeline and the interaction between build and the other departments like concept art, match move, layout, rigging, lighting, and compositing.
MASTER BUILD orbits around an educational model based on a VFX Studio Training system, where the students learn the software and techniques while using studio pipeline tools like Shotgun, in order to organize, tracking and release assignments as well as having them approved in dailies or weeklies depending on the task and schedule.

The main idea is providing the students a true studio environment from day one, bringing them the experience of being part of a team with duties and responsibilities, as they will have once they incorporate into the studio workforce.
Providing this working environment to the students will help them to build the mindset required for developing good working habits that will help them to seamlessly get incorporated into the industry.
From the software learning perspective, the goal is to assist the students to build a comfort zone from where they will expand their knowledge into the specific discipline of their choice later on in their professional careers.
We will develop the classes instilling to the students a problem-solving mentality guided by a clearly defined goal, in order to get the job done according to the industry standards and down the instructor-supervisor requirements and suggestions.

The tools and techniques learned will provide the students with a starting point to complete successfully the assignment, and we will encourage them to explore alternative approaches if that fits better their personal preferences. There is not a right or wrong way to execute the work as soon as it is delivered on time and with the quality expected.

Diego is a multidisciplinary artist with more than 20 years of experience in creative fields like Info-Architecture, Product Design, Toy/Figurine Design, Prototyping, and for the last 10 years, specialized in Animation and VFX for TV.



With his experience in Design, Animation, and VFX, Diego has had roles from Product Designer to 3D Character Modeler, CG Generalist, and Lead of Build for TV, managing teams of artists in the UK, India, and China for multiple shows and product manufacturing.

MODULE 1

MODELING I
 

Length: 12 weeks, 72 hours
Time: 3 classes a week, 2 hours per class


In this Module we will learn the fundamentals of Maya directing our attention to advance modeling techniques. The students will be familiar with the tools and techniques for Poly and Surface Modeling in Maya.

MODULE 2

MODELING II
 

Length: 12 weeks, 72 hours
Time: 3 classes a week, 2 hours per class


In this Module, the students will be familiar with the tools and techniques for Organic and Hard Surface Modeling in ZBrush. As well as 3D printing techniques and workflows, between Analog and CG. We will learn how to capture objects and environments with Reality Capture and how to process the data cleaning up the assets in Zbursh and Maya.We will design our first cloths with Marvelous Designer.

In this Module we will learn how to work with Character creator in combination with ZBrush and Maya.We will learn the fundamentals of texturing with Substance Painter and Mari and how do a proper Look Development with Arnold in Maya, as well as Unreal.We will render passes for compositing in Nuke and edit in Premiere.

MODULE 4

EXTRA MILE
PROGRAM

Linknetic is proud to present an amazing partnership with GONZHU STUDIOS and ÉMIGRÉ ENTERTAINMENT. The EXTRA MILE PROGRAM is a 6-months work experience in a commercial project.

The students who enroll in the program will start at the beginning of the MODULE 3 and will work on the project for the next 6 months.
This Year 2021 the students at Extra Mile Program will be invited to collaborate on the project SINGULARITIES, an animated TV show developed by Gonzhu Studios and Emigre Entertainment.
